A filmed record of radio-based educational endeavors. It begins with the way that radio calisthenics (rajio taiso) are broadcast, then shows how radio broadcasts are used in schools in Tokyo and in rural areas, morning assembly, the children’s hour and radio use at a pre-school and in the home. This film was produced for screening at the World Education Conference and was later remade. It is full of unusual images including radios with trumpet shaped speakers and scenes from the inside of the Mt. Atago studio. NHK owns a film version of this work but we will screen a video version.
