For our February screening, we present the winner of the Ogawa Shinsuke Prize (awarded to the top film in the New Asian Currents category) and the FIPRESCI Prize at YIDFF 2005, Kato Haruyo’s The Cheese & The Worms. After its success at the festival, this film was distributed and given a theatrical release thanks to the efforts of a group of volunteers.
On the eve of the release of YIDFF 2007 Ogawa Shinsuke Prize winner Bingai, this is a fine opportunity to contemplate the distribution of personal films.
