YIDFF 95 Programs
- International Competition: 15 outstanding films were screened, selected from entries from around the world.
- Jurors Films: 5 films were screened.
- Special Invitation Films: 11 films were screened.
- New Asian Currents: New Asian Currents: 35 titles by emerging Asian filmmakers were screened.
- Japanese Documentaries of the 1970s: Japanese Documentaries of the 1970s: 44 films from the 1970s were screened.
- 7 SpectresTransfigurations in Electronic Shadows: In the centennial of the Lumières Cinématographe, this program re-examined the century of visual media through political, historical, aesthetic, and technological viewpoints, attempting to deepen and broaden our understanding of documentary (and its relationship to the world). From early silent films to the classics in documentary history, on to cutting edge images that foreshadow the future, 160 titles in total were screened. (These included 103 films of the Lumière brothers.)
- YIDFF Network Special Screenings: 2 titles were screened by Yamagatas citizen volunteer group, YIDFF Network.
- Japanese Classic Films: 6 classic Japanese feature films were screened.
