Attended the first edition of YIDFF in 1989 and took part in Asia Symposium 1989 as panelist. He is the commissioning chair of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, supporting regional filmmaking and film screenings in the Philippines.

Her graduation work from the National Film and Television School in the UK Memory of the Soil (1996) was invited to YIDFF 1997’s New Asian Currents. She has taught at The Film School of Tokyo and currently teaches at J. F. Oberlin University when she is not making films.
