Film Criticism Collective 2

Film Criticism Collective 1
Founded in 2015, the Film Criticism Collective (FCC) is intended to develop and encourage film criticism, to facilitate interaction among critics in Asia, and to make the writing of Asian critics more accessible in English. The book complies the activity and outcomes of “Yamagata Film Criticism Workshop (co-organized by the Japan Center Asia Center)” during the YIDFF 2015. It contains essays by workshop participants; essays by mentors film critics Chris Fujiwara, Kitakoji Takashi, and Kaneko Yu; and a transcript of the discussion “Film Criticism Collective Symposium: Documentary as Experimental Cinema” which welcomed sharp voices from Southeast Asian cinema on its panel. Asia Symposium 1989
A record of the symposium that took place on October 14th 1989 at YIDFF ’89, the very first documentary film festival to be held in Asia.
