It has been 11 years since the Japanese National Railway was privatized
and broken up into several regional JR entities. Workers (all members
of the railway workers' union, Kokuro), whose job it is to restock
vending machines in the stations are under heavy surveillance being
literally watched from behind by management. This video work was made
to show the actual working conditions and to support the union members
in their fight.
