Despite having lost their practice space when their gym was appropriated as a shelter, the Kesennuma High School Dance Team continues to dance under the blazing sun. They do not shy away from the camera. Their faces show carefree smiles intermixed with anxiety, and in them dwells the power to overcome.

The title of this film comes from the result of a thyroid gland test. “A2” means that there is no immediate danger, but that ongoing observation is advised. However, the children who were tested and their mothers express doubt over this result. Is what they are feeling needless fear, or is it the truth? In a time when the word “safety” has become a vacant sound, there are no answers to this question.

Kadowaki Elementary school in Ishinomaki City. What happened to the children, teachers, and their families during the earthquake and tsunami? Detailed interviews are conducted with 37 people immediately after the disaster until the following morning. Their stories do not provide lessons learned from the catastrophe, but rather tell of the existence of that school itself.
