100 years have passed since the first Japanese settlers landed in Brazil. Wouldn’t you like to learn more about this fascinating country? This two-part program features a film screening and a talk from Brazilians living in Japan. The story of a Japanese family who emigrate to Brazil, directed by Yamasaki Tizuka, a third-generation Japanese Brazilian, Gaijin has won several awards including the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival. Opportunities to see this fine film are few and far between. We look forward to seeing you there.
