The Shonai Documentary Film Tomonokai holds regular screenings (every other month) of films including those screened at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, as part of its mission to provide greater opportunities to see the best in documentary film. July’s selection is the winner of the Robert and Frances Flaherty Prize (Grand Prize) at YIDFF 2003, Tie Xi Qu: West of Tracks. Don’t miss this extraordinary three-part, nine-hour-plus documentary.
