The subject of the film was born in Yanji, in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, moving to Japan when he was ten. At age twenty, he went to China to search for his father, who had been a painter. Yet none of his relatives know where he is, nor do they even wish to talk about him. Then, with the help of an uncle, he meets his father in Korea for the first time in eighteen years . . .
