Crowdfunding to Create a Collection of YIDFF 2025 Guest Interviews
We felt this year’s Yamagata was more vibrant than ever, and we are eagerly compiling audience numbers and survey results. We also plan to create a collection of interviews with the filmmakers who visited Yamagata as guests this year, and are currently undertaking a crowdfunding campaign to secure production funds. We have already recorded interviews with 35 directors during the festival period. We plan to translate and edit these interviews into Japanese and English, then publish them on the festival’s official website. This will document the filmmakers’ creative processes, convictions, creativity, and passion for documentary filmmaking, and share it with the world. We believe this will become invaluable support for their future endeavors after visiting Yamagata.
As a thank-you gift for crowdfunding participants, we plan to distribute the interviews in booklet form and also send PDF files via email. If you prefer the PDF, please indicate this in the remarks section when applying on the support site.
